This was written for a writing prompt in a group I’m in called GYAWS (Get Your Ass Writing Songs!). We have the goal of writing one song a week and sharing it to the group. The week’s prompt was “Success.” This was the first song I had written following the Taxi Road Rally (large gathering of professionals working on music in film and television) in 2016. I also took inspiration from Vampire Weekend’s “Sunflower.” They do it better, but I do love a good scat every now and then.
