This song was written in 2011 during February Album Writing Month (FAWM.org). Brian and Sarah Smith heard the song and offered to add cello and trumpet. They really took the song to an epic place and that inspired and guided what eventually became the basis for the orchestral arrangement by Andi on the 2022 recording. The bridge for this song didn’t come about until 2016, when I first started thinking about re-recording this song. For some reason every time I tried to record this song, self-doubt and imposter syndrome told me it was impossible to do it “correctly.” Maybe it was counseling and therapy that helped, or maybe just this phase of life, but I decided it was more important to share the song than to endlessly attempt to reach some state of perfection. And to be fair, this song has come out far greater than I had ever anticipated when it first flowed out of me in February of 2011. Over a decade later...here it is.
