Special thanks to Laser for the inspiration. Written on 2021-07-12 as part of a challenge by Laser to write a journal entry about everything I’m doing or involved in and then eventually, after rewriting 2 or 3 times, taking that condensed entry and writing a song. This is that song. When I first wrote it, I was honestly scared to share it with anyone because it expressed that I wasn’t even sure if God existed anymore. For some who knew me, this would most likely come as a shock. I was very much aligned with the church for a large percentage of my life. There had always been questions, but I don’t think I’d had the time to really stop and ponder them like many do. The pandemic, if it did anything positive for me, allowed me some time for self-reflection and to ask some very hard questions of myself. Now I fall in the “I have no idea, but maybe” camp of belief. I certainly know that I don’t know. And I’m ok with it. I guess that’s part of my nutshell. That and video games.
